Work Experiences

M3 Design Inc.

M3 Design Inc. is a product development firm located near Austin, Texas. During my time at M3, I worked as a mechanical engineering intern responsible for the mechanical design on a handful of different products. The majority of my time was spent constructing a mechanical hexapod mockup to optimize assembly efficiency and streamline user interaction for quality control equipment. My internship at M3 Design provided my first exposure to Creo Parametric and master modeling, both of which I still use day-to-day. In addition, my design collaboration skills and versatility certainly improved as well. Head over to my portfolio for more details!

Canon Virginia Inc.

Canon Virginia Inc., or CVI, is a manufacturer for Canon’s office and consumer products located in Newport News, Virginia. Although famously known for their cameras, I worked as a product development intern primarily tasked with developing testing equipment for biosensors that were also being developed at that time. This was the first time I had designed machinery for a product that hadn't been made yet. Along with a healthy set of mechanical design challenges, the project required significant amounts of communication and collaboration to ensure functional compatibility. Although initially difficult, the challenge was undoubtedly rewarding!

Vanderlande

Vanderlande is a large material handling and logistics automation company based in the Netherlands. Their primary solutions exist in the airports and packaging industries. I served as a product design and test engineering intern while at Vanderlande. I spent the majority of my time designing new components, building new configurations for existing products, and updating drawing packages. That said, I spent about four weeks in their Acworth, GA facility working on the company's first test conveyor loop in the US. During those four weeks, I gained valuable hands-on experience with baggage handling equipment and was fortunate to work on the project from start to finish.
